Dofasco Male Chorus

Monday May 10th 7.00 PM

Choir

In 1945, a group of enthusiastic men, who shared a common love of singing, formed the Dofasco Male Chorus. Today, the 60-member-strong chorus, conducted by ArcelorMittal Dofasco retiree Geoff Bullivant and accompanied by Nancy Bullivant, who also serves as Associate Director, is highly acclaimed as one of the finest male choruses throughout all of Canada.

Chorus members gather weekly in the Dofasco Main Office cafeteria to practice their extensive repertoire ranging from Folk to Sacred, from Classical to Broadway, for their performances held from September through May. The Chorus is always looking for new members to bolster up the Sections.

Over more than 60 years, the Chorus has attracted a large following. They have entertained at concerts, conventions, church gatherings, service clubs and many other events, locally and in major cities across Canada and the United States. The chorus has also helped raise funds through benefit concerts for charitable organizations in the Hamilton and surrounding area. They have entertained football fans across the country during a Grey Cup half-time show, participated in opening ceremonies at the Canadian National Exhibition, and at a World Curling Championship.

The Chorus and Ladies Ensemble were most widely recognized for their "A Festival of Christmas Carols" which was carried on national television and radio to major cities throughout Canada for over 50 years.

ArcelorMittal Dofasco is proud of the Male Chorus and Ladies Ensemble and hopes you will enjoy their concerts as much as the members enjoy entertaining in song.
